El principal problema de la PAE en aquest àmbit es presenta en la dificultat de controlar la presència d’herbes adventícies en les bones condicions edafoclimàtiques de la zona, de les quals en destaca l’elevada pluviometria, superior als 1.000 l/m2 a l’any de mitjana. Un altre aspecte que es considera clau per a aquests sistemes productius és la fertilització, tenint en compte, per una banda, les limitacions d’utilització d’adobs de síntesi química i de segons quins adobs orgànics en la PAE i, per altra banda, les necessitats nutricionals elevades dels cultius implantats a la zona derivades dels seus potencials productius també elevats.
